School Inhaler Program

Roadmap to Sustainability Toolkit

Available Soon!

The Roadmap to Sustainability (Roadmap) is intended primarily for school districts and schools that are already providing access to stock inhalers. Key activities are included in the “Sustainability Loop” section. Information about the steps necessary for a school district or a school to begin offering stock inhalers on their campuses in the future is also provided in the “On Ramp” section.

The Roadmap provides guidance on managing aspects of the stock inhaler program that have previously been supported by external partners, such as acquiring the inhalers and one-way valved holding chambers (spacers) and partnering with a medical professional. The aim is to build internal capacity at the district and/or school level to sustain this important work over time.

Check back here soon to download and help your schools and school district sustain the School Stock Inhaler Program.

How to Become AE-C Certified

The National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) granted accreditation to the NAECB for demonstrating compliance with the NCCA Standards for the Accreditation of Certification Programs. NCCA is the accrediting body of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence. Are you aware that many employers acknowledge certifications that have attained NCCA accreditation? Some give bonus pay and some will pay for the AE-C certification and/or recertification. This may be something you can discuss with your employer to see if it applies to you!

To learn more on how to become an AE-C, go to www.naecb.com or you may contact them by phone 877.408.0072 or email: info@naecb.org.

Due to an increasing concern about asthma in Arizona and therefore a significant increase in asthma-related activities, we became a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization in November of 2008.

Asthma Burden

The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS), Bureau of Chronic Disease and Health Promotion, contracted with LeCroy & Milligan Associates, Inc., to develop an Asthma Burden Report, designed to inform ongoing efforts to address asthma as a chronic health issue in Arizona. The report was based on available secondary data from state and national surveillance systems and local partners, ADHS-relevant reports such as the Respiratory Burden Report and School Health Needs Assessment.
